IHHP Careers

Live Online Program Producer (Freelance)

The Producer’s Role in Online Learning

IHHP’s tried and true method of delivering effective Live Online programs is separating process and content, and in doing so, we created the role of the “technology host”, or meeting “producer” for our live online program delivery.

The IHHP Facilitator focuses on delivering our impactful programs and the objectives of the session, while the producer’s job is to ensure the online course and engagement is delivered smoothly.

Participant Experience Is Paramount

If participants feel supported before, during, or after the session, they will be more likely to fully participate, and this will have a positive impact on learning, session outcomes and potential future projects.

At IHHP, we believe firmly in creating safe and accessible learning spaces, especially in virtual environments, and this, first and foremost, means ensuring all participants are seen and heard. Live Online Producers play an important part in this success by managing the technology aspect of live online delivery. This includes:

  • Opening the Live Online Classroom 30 minutes prior to the session start time.
  • Assisting the Facilitator with troubleshooting technology when required.
  • Welcoming participants as they join the session.
  • Mark attendance and capture any notes relevant to the participants (engagement level, tech issues, etc.).
  • Walk participants through key functionalities of Zoom/Microsoft Teams at the start of the program.
  • Provide ongoing support on Zoom/Microsoft Teams throughout the live online session.
  • Assisting the Facilitator in the delivery of the program by:
  • Setting up and managing breakout rooms
  • Alerting the facilitator as questions arise in the chat, or when “hands are raised”, so that participants can have their questions and comments heard in a timely manner.
  • Clear annotated screens
  • Launch/clear polls during session
  • Providing an attendance report to the program manager.

Be a cheerful and kind host! You are inviting participants into a potentially new and uncomfortable space. Make sure each person feels welcome and safe!
